Hi Jean, I found the passenger list for the Kestral but no Stearns on it.
Today I found William was in Albury Gaol, he says he came there on the Star of England in 1863.
William Snowling was a convict who came to WA in 1855 married in 1862 were witness's at a marriage 17/9/1863 in Perth, They must have gone over between Sept 1863 and the 29 July 1864 when their son Daniel was born at Warnambool Victoria, 3 of their children were born in Albury 1867,1870,1871.
I have found so many lies in his information I guess to cover up him being a Convict.

I will keep searching
Cheers
Ellen
