Hi Ellen , had a look at Port Fairy , it was called Belfast until about 1887, there is a Port Fairy Historical Society on the internet. Checked Trove for both William and the Kestrel , some info on West Aussie papers for both. There are a lot of ships arrivals/departures for the Kestrel in Perth/Fremantle , no mention of P.F. or Belfast, but plenty for Adelaide.
