Edward John Dawes, Melbourne, 1881 - 1884/5

Edward John Dawes was born in December 1859, Romford, Essex, England, the son of Edward and Charity Dawes.

He is recorded in the England 1881 census living in Walthamstow, England aged 22 years, butler/domestic duties.

I have a copy of a photo of him taken between 1881 and 1884/5 at Grant & Co, 125 Swanston Street, Melbourne.

He is next recorded in the 1885/86 Electoral Roll for Hawkes, Bay, Bay of Plenty, East Cape, NZ as living in Gisborne, residential, occupation Waiter.

Can anybody assist with information as to when he might have arrived in Melbourne, lived and departed for New Zealand.
