Lorraine, I have emailed you details about Henry BARKERs conditional pardon in 1844 and Lydia FORDs in 1848
both were prevented from returning to England in the conditions attached

Henry left tasmania in 1846 for Portland Bay in Victoria and they were still in victoria in 1849 as at least two more children were born in victoria (have emailed all the details)

So Henry Augustus BARKER could not have been born in England in 1848 as his parents were living in Victoria at the time
I suspect he told that story to hide his convict past

Just posting this for future reference in case anyone else is looking for information
