it is Awesome Jean everyone here has provided information in one form or another, Now I just have to locate my grandfathers lost brother, his father John Gordon born lanarkshire in c 1846 came to Australia c 1867 on the Cantebury Married Ann (e) Jordan/Jordon I located his burial in West Terrace Cemetary in Adelaide he passed away in 1924 on his death certificate he has 10 children 6 deceased, and 4 surviving. I can account for John, Jesse and Isabella but the other child remains a mystery to me. I was thinking Charles Alexander Gordon who is also buried in Quorn Cemetary but I cannot find any record of his birth at all in South Australia. My sister Christine mentioned a Scott that her mother met he had a broad scottish accent. Christine named her youngest son after him. I am inclined to think that the name scott came from the broad scotish accent not so much the name. We are also looking into the possibility this missing son, was born to another woman after Ann Jordan died. The child was born in Hergott Springs ( Maree) SA or in Quorn SA but yes I am so happy to have found my lost siblings, 49 years is a long time.
