Hi Margaret ,
Not sure if it is the Hill or Russell line you are researching , but I found on Trove , the Robertson Advocate 6/10/1916 , Obituary , The death of a young and much respected native of this district, in the person of Mr Alexander Russell took place in the Balmain Hospital on 29th September. The deceased was the eldest son of Mr Robert Russell of Port Hedland, West Australia..............His father is employed on the railway in West Australia, his grandfather Mr Alexander Russell and wife reside at Dudley, Newcastle (NSW) ( and formerly lived at Joadja), Mr John Donaldson, Mittagong is his grandfather on the mother's side and Mrs Herbert Hill, Mittagong (By whon he was reared after his mother's death)is an aunt.Mr John Russell , Mittagong, is a brother..........
On Grevilles Post Directory John Donaldson is a baker at Nattai. Grevilles is considered a Phone Book before phones and I think the date is 1872, I think Nattai is now part of Mittagong , and there is a Nattai National Park futher north.
