Dear Genealogists.

I'm hoping someone from Fort Wayne will be interested in some original Auten family research. It has been confirmed that the Daniel Comp Auten papers are now on file and available to researchers in the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne. We desparately need someone to look through the papers for some specific information.

Daniel Comp was one of the first serious Auten researchers, in the early 1980's. He interviewed a number of senior Autens who are now dead, and he may have uncovered information that would unbrick a number of the brick walls our research on one particular line has hit.

Daniel died before he was able to pass along his material. We now need to know what it was that he had found.

If there is anyone in the Fort Wayne area who is interested in this project, please get in touch. It's an exciting opportunity if you enjoy 'the hunt'.

Looking forward to hearing from Fort Wayne,
