Dear Anne, I hope you are still researching NC Autens? A group of researchers are starting a project to look at Autens from this part of the country. We're looking for Auten males who might be willing to take part in the ongoing ATEN/AUTEN DNA testing program (painless and free!). The hope is to add more data to existing information and be able to clarify the lines going back to the sons of Adriaen Hendrickse ATEN, the first ATEN in New Amsterdam in 1650.

I'm contacting you in the hope that you are still actively involved in Auten research and that you may know some Auten males who might be encouraged to participate in this project.

Let me know - it is a fascinating story. nancy vose
