Hi Rachel, have you had any feedback yet on who the Autens are? Please go to the Auten/ATEN website at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~aten/ You'll find that ATEN (Auten, Aton, Auton, etc.) is an old name and most people who have one of these variations descend from the same immigrant to New Amsterdam in 1651.

Rachel, if you know anything about your own Auten line, get back in touch and perhaps we can find how your people go back to that 1651 traveller.
