I am an Auten from Michigan. Most of my people are buried in a Cemetary on Dennison Road in Cone, Michigan.(near Milan south of ANN ARBOR) I have been told that My Auten's Left Pennsylvania heading west with Caswells, Cones, and Heathes. When arriving near what today would be west of toledo the wagon train starting failing.(disease, and tempers..) Some of the sick stayed there, while others went North into Michigan and some into Iowa. My Autens were Agriculturists, owning the corn elevators in Cone, MI. They were friends with the Ford Family and had worked early on trying to create Corn Fuel for Fords' engines. Numerous Autens have and do still work for Ford. My Grandfather started there in 1917, retiring in 1958. My father from 1970 to 2000, and myself from 1994. The Cemetary records have been twice destroyed by fire. I have recorded many of the tombstomes. I am also interested in the DNA Profiling for the Auten Lineage. Feel Free to contact me.
