Isham Avants produced in open court the certificate of the coroner of Coffee Co. certifying that he was duly elected constable in Dist. 5 of Coffee County.

Isham Avants presented his resignation as constable of the 5th dist. which may be refuted by the court.
July 27, 1838 Isham Avants sold a patch of ground to Gray W Haggard located on the Duck River at the place called the boil. The same day Gray W Haggard Deed of Trust to Daniel McLean speaking of the same land.
Note: Coffee County was formed Jan 1836 from Bedford, Franklin and Warren Counties. there was in Normandy dist. of Bedford County in 1830 Isham Evans who was 30 to 40 years old with 1 male to 5, 1 male 10 to 15 , 1 male 15 to 20 and 2 females to 5 and 1 female 30 to 40 and I was told by a historian in Bedford County that the Normandy Dist became the 5th Dist. in Coffee County. No Avants' appear in Coffee County or Bedford, Franklin, Warren census or any records that have been found except the above mentioned.

Lee Bankston resigns as guardian of Elizabeth and Rebecca Bankston orphans of Alfred Bankston praying the court appoint James Avants as guardian. James Avants is appointed guardian of Elizabeth and Rebecca Bankston with George S Terry and Lee Bankston as security -the girls are to receive $500.00

James Avants leaves the county of Saline. Cary James is now Guardian of Elizabeth and Rebecca Bankston. Cary James later that year marries Elizabeth Bankston.

Cary avants "I have not received anything or spent anything of the heirs of James Avants."
Isham, Carey, James Avants have not been found in the 1840 Census. Does anyone have any information about these families.
