I am an Evers in the USA trying to trace my Evers ancestors ..I have hit a brick wall with my ggggg grandfather James Evers SR. born 1740 in America.I know James and his mother ,Elizabeth , was living in North Carolina,USA, .... when he was 10 years old but do not know if that is where he was born..His fathers first name may have been William or John..Do not know what Elizabeth maiden name was or where she came from......I am thinkig maybe James Evers Sr.,,, grand father--?---Evers..... is the one to first migrate to colonies from wherever.???Have no idea what country to begin looking for my line of Evers.I believe they were in American colonies by the 1600's ..Can anyone tell me where to look for information to try and find when the first Evers settled in the American colonies.
