Avers Family Genealogy Forum
Actually, there ae TWO possibilities:
1. I have found the name 'Evers' to be common in areas of The Netherlands. Yes... it is pronounced 'Avers'.
2. My ancestors came from North Horn, Germany. Their family name was 'Averes'. It was changed to Avers when they immigrated to the United States (Port of Baltimore) in 1854. They lived in Virginia (now West Virginia) and Western Maryland. There are Avers families in Florida that are connected, but no known connection to Avers families in Ohio and elsewhere.
