It is not possible to answer without knowing which descendants you are talking about. You and I are both descendants of Cornelio Avila but as far as I know we do not have any Indian ancestors on that particular line. But I also share the Yorba line.
You have the wrong information about Cornelio Avila being sent to the New World by King Carlos II.King Carlos II died 1st Nov 1700!Cornelio was born about 1744, El Fuerte, New Spain. He started out as a fruit merchant in 1783 bringing up fresh fruit from Baja California to Alta California. There are records that actually prove this. You can find that information in "Saddleback Ancestors", revised edition. You can probably find it at one of the libraries near where you live.
Juan Avila was the son of Jose Antonio Ignacio Avila and Rosa Maria Ruiz.Rosa's parents were both listed as Spanish in the 1790 census.Juan became very rich in his own right when he became the grantee of Rancho El Niguel in Aliso Canyon.I have record of only one son, Manual Donaciono, who was born to Juan and Soledad Thomasa Yorba. They also had three daughters. They may have had more children but these were the ones that I found.Manual married Delfina Rodriquez.I do not know much about her so she might have been Indian. They had nine children.I only followed two of the children into the 20th century.I do not have a Jose Clarence Avila in my database.I am certain that there are many Avilas I do not have in my database!
You sound as if we would be a third cousin to us, closer to you, since Cornelio Avila was your 4 greats grandfather. What line from Cornelio do you come from?
