Jerry, thank you for your message. That does place a whole new perspective on the search. Quite a few years ago I was in contact with someone from England - and I can't understand the signature - but she said that family tradition is the name Aviolet is a French name and was once D'Aviolet. She also says the family is believed to be a Hugenot family.
