HI ROSA

MY NAME IS ALEJANDRO R. GARCIA AYALA, MY MOTHER`S FAMILY IS FROM GENERAL ESCOBEDO, NUEVO LEON. THE NAME OF THIS CITY, G. ESCOBEDO, WAS EL TOPO GRANDE DE LOS AYALA.

MY GRANDFATHER WAS HILARIO AYALA LOPEZ AND HAD 10 SON AND DAUGHTERS.

THIS ROOT OF THE AYALA FROM GENERAL ESCOBEDO IS CONSIDER TO BE THE ONE OF THE SPONSORS OF THE LAST EXPEDITION TO REFOUND WHATS NOW MONTERREY.

THE CAPTAIN JOSE TREVIO AND HIS WIFE, LEONOR AYALA WERE SPONSORS OF THIS EXPEDITION AND WHEN THEY SETTLED IN WHATS NOW MONTERREY CITY, THE GENERAL GOVERNOR GAVE "MERCEDES DE TIERRAS" LANDS TO ALL THE SPONSOR WHO HELP HIM IN THE EXPEDITION.

THE AYALAS RECEIVE A BIG PIECE OF LAND SO THEY CAN ESTABLISH THEIR HACIENDA AND NAMED THE HACIENDA DEL TOPO GRANDE DE LOS AYALA, NEXT TO THE "CERRO DEL TOPO" (TOPO HILL).

THE DESCENDANTS FROM THIS AYALA CAN BE NAMED FOUNDERS OF THE CITY OF MONTERREY AMONG OTHER FAMILIES.

MONTERREY CITY WAS FOUNDED IN 1596 BY DIEGO DE MONTEMAYOR, SO THE CITY AND THE HACIENDA DEL TOPO GRANDE DE LOS AYALA HAS MORE THAN 400 YEARS LIVING IN THE AREA.

THEN, PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER MEXICO CAME TO SETTLE IN MONTERREY, AND OTHER AYALA FAMILIES ALSO CAME.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTICE THIS FACT, BECAUSE NOW A DAYS YOU CAN FIND IN THE MONTERREY AREA A LOT OF AYALAS, BUT ONLY THIS AYALA FAMILY FROM GENERAL ESCOBEDO IS FOUNDER OF THE CITY AND THE FIRST TO COME THIS FAR NORTH IN MEXICO.

OTHER FACT IS THAT THE NAME OF THE CAPTAIN JOSE DE TREVIO WAS ORIGINALY JOSE TRESVI, BUT CHANGED I DONT NOW WHY; TRESVI IS A JEWISH NAME, AND WHEN HE MARRIED LEONOR AYALA, BY THE WAY, AYALA IS A MOORE NAME (MUSLIM), THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS WERE NAMED AYALA AYALA, AND SUPRESSED THE TRESVI NAME BECAUSE OF THE PROSECUTION OF JEWS. ALSO THEY DECIDED TO CHANGE THE FAMILY NAME BECAUSE THE AYALA NAME WAS MORE IMPORTANT.

CERTAINLY SOME AYALA FROM THIS ROOT HAVE MOVED TO DIFERRENT PLACES INSIDE MEXICO AND TO TEXAS.

IF YOUR FAMILY ROOTS ARE FROM ESCOBEDO IT IS A FACT THAT WE HAVE A LOT IN COMMON.

YOU CAN FIND MORE INFORMATION OF THE HACIENDA DEL TOPO GRANDE DE LOS AYALA AT THE MUNICIPAL LIBRARY AT GENERAL ESCOBEDO. THERES ALSO A BOOK NAMED " BREVE HISTORIA DE NUEVO LEON", EDITED BY THE FONDO DE CULTURA ECONOMICA AND THE AUTHOR IS ISRAEL CAVAZOS, BY THE WAY, THE CITY HISTORIAN OF MONTERREY.

I HOPE THIS INFORMATION WOULD BE USEFUL.

P.D. NOW I LIVE IN CANCUN, MEXICO. EXCUSE ME IF MY ENGLISH IS VERY GOOD.
