Ayala is my husband's surname. We live in Kansas. Raymond Gerard Ayala is my husband; his father is Ramon Ayala. According to these two: (1) yes the Ayala's have Aztec blood, (2) the first Ayala was in the Spanish court in Spain and the Ayalas were the representatives of the Spanish Court to the outside world -- thus, you have the reason why the Ayalas are all over the world. And the name of Ayala is very common -- as common as "Smith" or "Jones" in the USA. The above is all that I now know about the surname of Ayala.
