I am not related, but you might want to check out http://search.labs.familysearch.org/
The 1900 census there shows Naraths in CO and NY, originating from Germany.

http://genealogy.az.gov/ shows no Naraths
http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi shows only 11, none in Arizona - there seems to be a strong Californian link.

http://vitals.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ca/death/search.cgi
- CA death index shows several Naraths, most born in Colorado.
