Corey Lee Hicks, PFC, of Glendale, AZ currently stationed at Fort Hood. He passed on May 2, 2008 in Baghdad, Iraq. Corey was born on January 17, 1986 in Billings, Montana. He graduated in 2004 from Cortez High School and was currently serving proudly in the United States Army and received the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaigning Medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge and a Weapons Qualification Badge with an Expert Bar. . Corey is survived by his parents Tim and Dawn Settle and Russel Hicks, siblings Kerri (Josh) Oless, Tim Settle, Russel Jr. (Becky) Hicks and Tina Settle, 3 nieces and 1 nephew Isabell, Christian, Savannah and Hayden, grandparents James Sr. and Nancy Settle, Mary Hicks and Betty. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Corey was a gift to all and will be honored forever for his service to his country and the fight for freedom. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 5-8pm at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary with a Service on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 10:00 am at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N 59th Ave. in Glendale, AZ. Interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Park Cemetery.
