Looking for any information on Frederick Backs or Baacke or Bax or Bacs. He was born around 1841 in Prussia. He is shown on the 1870 Washington Co., IL Census with his wife Louise 29 who shows being born in Prussia also. The following children are shown as being born in Illinois: William 7, Anna 5 and Henry 1. There is another son Louis who was born in 1873.
There is another Backs shown on this same Census. He is Andrew Backs 46 born in Prussia, his wife Caroline 30 (Prussia). Their children all show to have been born in IL: Mary 17, John 10, Lizzie 8, Martha 6, Anna 11, Lena 2 and Willie 8 mos.
I would love to hear from anyone who might have information on the above families. They lived in the Washington Co., IL areas around Okawville and Nashville.
