Just for general interest. My search for Baas ancestors in and around Milwaukee turned up one family from the Netherlands (Groningen?) along with my people, a family of fishermen from Pomerania (Germany) who emigrated in the mid-1840's. My great grandfather was John Gottlieb Baas (1848-1879), son of Heinrich Baas from Wollen Island on the Baltic coast. There's more info if anyone is interested.
