Richard Dease is a common name in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.

Richard Dease m. Elizabeth Nugent of Carlanstown. Their eldest son, James was born about 1565.

James Dease m. Margaret Leicester and had 6 children. His eldest was Richard Dease.

This Richard was b. 1603 and m. Mary Brown and had 4 sons (James, William, Oliver & Michael) and 3 daughters.

The eldest son, James (who died in 1707) married 2ndly, Mary Nugent and had Richard (who died in France) & William.

William m. Eleanor Nangle in 1704 and had 5 sons: Richard, John, Oliver, Garrett, Patrick, and 2 daughters; Eleanor & Catherine.

Of these children, Richard died unmarried in 1672; Oliver m. Mary Tuite and d. 1771; Garret m. 1740 to Susan Plunkett; Patrick had 3 sons, the oldest of which is also a Richard.
