William Jefferson Babb married the niece of Stephen Heard; Susannah Heard, dau.of John Heard and Susannah Meador. They were recorded in Gwinnett Co. in 1820. I presume in that little peninsula shooting out to the west into Cherokee Lands. In 1822 that portion of Gwinnett became DeKalb Co. In the 1830 census of DeKalb Co., William Sr., Wm. Jr., Joel Heard, and John Babb are recorded living next to one another. Joel later moves to Mill Creek. William Jefferson Jr. moves his family to Coffee Co., Al. (and later north Florida). John, 1st wife Polly Rogers, and later 2nd wife Lucinda (?) continue to live in the same area until after 1880. I can't find burial sites for William Sr. and Susannah Heard Babb (or John, Polly, and Lucinda either). I wonder if they joined some of her family in Heard Co.?
If anyone has information that would solve this mystery, it would be greatly appreciated.
