Bobby Gene Babb, 68, TN, obituary; Smith-Babb

Bobby Gene Babb, 68, of Tangleberry Lane, Afton, Greene Co
TN, died Wednesday evening, June 3, 2009, at Takoma
Regional Hospital, Greeneville, TN. He was a son of the
late Paul and Irene Smith Babb.

Mr. Babb retired from Takoma Adventist Hospital after 15
years of service and was a farmer. He attended Union
Temple United Methodist Church.

Mr. Babb was a former member of Union Temple Ruritan Club,
and was a charter member of the Newmansville Fire
Department, where he was active for almost 20 years.

His family stated Bobby was a dedicated husband, father,
grandfather and friend.

He loved the Lord. He was a blessing to all who knew him.
Bobby was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone
in need. He will be loved, missed and remembered always.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Wilma Ricker Babb;
a son and daughter-in-law, Terry Lynn and Cindy Babb of
Johnson City, TN; his grandson, Ryan Babb of Greeneville,
TN; two step grandchildren, Daniel Wedding and Christian
Crawford, both of Johnson City, TN; a brother and sister-
in-law, Kyle and Betty Jean Smith of Chuckey, TN; a
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ross and Mary Ricker of
Greeneville, TN; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Hensley of Limestone,
TN; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m to 4 p.m, and
6 p.m to 8 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Kiser-Rose
Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 p.m in the
funeral home chapel. The Rev. Richard Bowers will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 1 p.m Sunday afternoon,
June 7, 2009, in Union Temple Cemetery. Family and friends
will meet at the funeral home at noon to travel in
procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carroll
Babb, Sammy Babb, Harold Roberts, Ryan Babb, George Bowers,
and Bobby Crew. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Smith,
Ross Ricker, Jimmy Strong, Clark Skidmore, Fred Lamons,
Ron Garst, and his friends and co-workers at Takoma Hospital.

Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is serving the Babb family.
