Hi Kathie,

We are definitely related on the Kellett side. Joseph and Jennett/Jane are in my line, and their daughter Martha (sister to your Anna) married Abner Babb (brother to your Sampson). The Kellett Babb from my earlier post was Martha and Abner's son.

Funny, on my other side of the family, the Simses, two sons of Clayborn Sims (from Laurens County, died in 1812) married two Abercrombie sisters. Interestingly enough (if your head is not already spinning!), another of the Abercrombie sisters (Rebecca) married Kellett Babb, and their daughter, Arinda, married her first cousin, Lewis Saxton Sims, who was the son of Hiram Sims and Mary Abercrombie. That's how my Sims line first tied into the Babbs.

It is pretty tough keeping all of those Kelletts, Babbs, Abercrombies and Simses straight!

BTW, I just joined the DAR with Joseph Kellett. Are you a member? Mary Babb, the mother of Abner and Sampson, is also a patriot in her own right, having furnished supplies for the revolution. Both are in the DAR Patriot Index.

I'll have to go back to Genealogy.com and Ancestry.com for more information regarding Joseph Kellett's parents and other ancestors.

I'll look forward to hearing more about your Kellett/Babb lines as you find out more information.
