Hello Babbitt researchers!
I have not been able to trace my Babbitt ancestor in Illinois. His name was Robert Babbitt and was born abt. 1833 in Illinois. He married a Mary E.Page in 1852 in McHenry County Ill. They moved to Brighton township in Cass County Iowa as they were on the 1860 census there.
But his daughter, my gr.gr.Gr.grandma Lousia Babbitt Morse married in Illinois, so I believe Robert Babbitt must have moved back or died prior to 1880. His wife remarried and lived in Illinois. The 1860 census lists New York as Robert's father's birthplace. This is all I know!
Anyone have any Illinois Babbitt info?
