Thanks Kristen. I'm interested in any and all information on L W Babbitt. I have gleaned bits and pieces from various Iowa county history books, but they seem to conflict with each other in some ways, especially dates. The rifle I have is a dandy, has lots of silver inlays, including a Masonic compass and square and a couple of others with Masonic symbolism. I have not determined whether or not Babbitt was a Mason, the customer it was made for was a Mason, or both. I will try to send you an e-mail.
