Hi Ava, I too am interested in the two David Babcock's and Thankful Barbara Garlick. Right now, I have three different birth dates for Rebecca Babcock: 1787, 1789, and 1791. Her older sister, Phoebe, apparently was born in Vermont. And from there, I think the family moved to New York (?where), but I could be mistaken. I don't have the time to get my material out on the Babcock's, but I did work on it sometime this weekend. I am an ancestor of Rebecca Babcock. She married William Clark in 1806, in Ernesttown, Ontario Canada. They had a daughter, Catherine Clark, also born in Ernesttown. In the 1861 Stanhope Ontario Census, it shows that Catherine Clark, her husband James Melville (also spelled Melvil), and two year old son William Clark Melville were listed. In Stanhope Township, town of Maple Lake, Ontario, Haliburton County, William Clark Melville grew up, and married Catherine Jones (Thomas Jones Senior + Elizabeth May, both from England,and I have their genealogy to England 1500's. William Clark Melville and Catherine (Jones) Melville married in 1883. Their first born was Ethel, born 1884, then (not in order) Jim, Florence, Edmond, Paul, Catherine. Again this is by memory.
Ethel is my mother's mother. Ethel Melville, was born in Maple Lake, Ontario. She moved first to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and then to Harvey, North Dakota, where she met and married my grandfather, Henry Clinton Westbrook. She was listed in the ND 1900 Census. They got married in 1901 in Harvey ND. Henry and Ethel had several children: Della, Helen, Clinton, Harvey "Scotchy" Clarence, Albert, Carl, Victor, LILLIAN CATHERINE (my mother (b. March 10. 1919 Fort Rice, ND, died Dec. 11, 2006, St. Paul, MN) Norma, Gordon, and Doris. Helen had a child out of wedlock, named Tess, and because Tess and Norma were born the same year, she was raised in the family as well. Lillian Catherine Westbrook met and married Vinton Sidney Wester on July 26, 1946, Minneapolis, MN. My sister, Donna Jean Wester was born September 1, 1947, Minneapolis, MN, and I was born Bonnie Lynn Wester on August 7, 1952, Minneapolis, MN. Donna married Roger Murr Marcy 31, 1973. They have no children. I married Michael Robert Connolly (b. April 6, 1954, Rochester, MN) August 18, 1979 (Minneapolis, MN). We have two children: Krista Joy Connolly, born October 27, 1988, St. Paul, MN, who is now 19 1/2. Brian Edward Connolly, born April 26, 1990, St. Paul, MN, who is now 18, and will graduate from high school on FRIDAY MAY 30, 2008! We live in Shoreview, MN which is a suburb of St. Paul.
