Would like to connect with living descendants who have more information on the children and oral history for James W. Babcock born 1859 Platte Co. Missouri, the son of Isaac 'Jack' Babcock and James W. Babcock's wife Lurella Naylor b. 26 Aug 1860 Platte Co. MO, the daughter of Paul Naylor and his wife Mary Elizabeth Hayes. I believe Paxton's book to be in error on the marriage date for James W. Babcock and Lurella Naylor (he gave 4 Jan 1890) because she had her '3rd child' on 15 April 1884 according to the SOS MO records. This 3rd child was named Iris L Babcock b. 4-15-1884 died 5-7-1884.
Lurella Naylor married James W. Babcock born 1859, the only son from the marriage of Sarah A. Heath and Isaac 'Jack' Babcock.Isaac was the son of Zabina Babcock and his wife Lucinda Dustamer. Isaac Babcock died in 1859 and Sarah A. (Heath) Babcock can be found on the 1860 census for Pettis Twp, Platte Co MO living with her father (James Heath who married Chloe McComas) and with her is 1 yr old James Babcock. Sarah A. (Heath) Babcock went on to marry again to William H. Arnold. It was a 2nd marriage for him and he brought several older children into the marriage, and then he and Sarah had other children together.

James W. Babcock and his wife Lurella (Naylor) Babcock left Platte Co MO to live in Leavenworth, KS. My problem is that since there is no 1890 census, the names of their remaining 5 living children I cannot verify. I have seen a 1900 census for Leavenworth KS with a James Babcock and a wife 'Julia' on it but their ages etc don't make sense unless he census taker had been drinking. One WorldConnect posting though attributes the children from that census to Lurella (Naylor) and James W. Babcock. I would like to connect with living descendants who can verify for certain the names of their children--and what happened to the family.
