Ava, on every single record in that particular family- Joseph Snider born March 4, 1824, married to Elizabeth/Betsy, she is always referred to as Betsy Snider or Elizabeth Snider. I have not yet once found her named as Betsy Stover.
I have children:
Amos Sidney Snider born Dec. 18, 1851 married Hannah Elizabeth Boice or Boyce and Mary Jane Lucas, both marriages say his mother was Elizabeth Snider; Amos died in 1902 but his death reg. does not give names of his parents
Benson Smith Snider born about 1854 married Electa Snider daughter of Wilson Snider & Harriet Jane (I have not worked on this family at all); the marriage reg. says his mother was Betsy Snider; he died 1918, parents Joseph Snider and Betsy Snider
Melinda Snider born about 1856- on marriage reg. she is Matilda Adaline Snider, married George Washington Montgomery in 1883, her mother is listed as Betsy Snider; Malinda or Matilda supposedly died in 1937, so I don't have that death reg. yet
Angenetta Snider born about 1858 married John Shaw in 1874, mother listed as Betsy Snider; Angenetta died in 1931, mother listed as Betsy Snider.....
So, unless someone has some documentation that says she is NOT a Snider by birth, I keep her recorded in my files as Elizabeth Betsy Snider, wife of 1824 Jacob Snider. Elizabeth died in 1915, but her parents' names were not listed on her death reg. I have no idea then whose daughter she was.
