Hi Nora
I have a Jacob S Babcock July 1843 married to Eliza Jane Laughlen August 1850 she died in 1922. I got birth dates from the automated 1911 online census. It shows they have one daughter Alice M. born October 1890 who married a Samuel Lilley. Samuel Lilley's name appears on Eliza Jaanes's death registration as her son in law.
I also have Jacob and Eliza on the LDS 1881 census. Living with them are Emma Laughlen 23 and Carmel Stover 6 son of Valentine Stover.

On another note do you know anything of Alexander Babcock about 1817.
