I am hoping someone has information on the David Babcock who was the father of Catherine Elizabeth Babcock. She was born abt. 1844 . She married John Wesley David Oct. 1861 in Kingston Township, Frontenac Co., Ontario. They moved to Illinois about 1871, John died Sept. 26, 1896 and is buried at Roselawn, Newton Co., Indiana. On Aug. 2, 1899 she applied for a marriage License with Azariah Smith in Newton Co., Indiana.
Her information includes: age 56, born: Ernestown, Canada; Father's name: David Babcock; mother's Maiden name: Mary Hadley. In reading other posting I see that there were several David Babcocks, but I do not see a Mary Hadley mentioned. Azariah Smith was born NewYork, 62 years of age, parents Azariah Smith and Patience Williams, he died the following year 1900. Any help is much appreciated.
