David's first wife I have just recently discovered was Mary Hadley. This info came from their daughter Catherine Elizabeth born 1844 second marriage application to Azariah Smith. Catherine's first marriage was to John Wesley David. David Babcock married a second time to Jane Peters and had 9 other children with her that I am aware of. They appear on 1851 census with their son Alexander and David's children Catherine with a K and Lovina/Lavina. I have no way of proving but I believe the the Joseph Babcock directly above David on the census is David's son by his first marriage as the birth date matches. I have no idea what happened to his first wife Mary Hadley. I imagine she passed about 1847 after Lovina was born. Notify Administrator about this message?
