Don't know where Ray County is in relation to Platte County but I have an ancester Thomas W. Baber, b: 1720, d: 1778 whose family eventually wound up in Platte County. He was married to Elizabeth Lawson.
Could there be any connection? If so I have an extensive Baber tree both ancestry and descendent wise.
