In answer to my own query and correction about the death date of Sir Anthony Babington I must write again to say that on consulting the authoritative book The History and Antiquities of the County of Leicestershire by John Nichols I find that he places his death in 1544 at the age of 69.
He has genealogical charts of the Babington family in Vol. 111 part 2.
He refers to the first marriage to Elizabeth Ormonde by which he brought aggrandizement to the family, but Elizabeth died in November 1505, and then married Catherine Ferrers, daughter of Sir John Ferrers.
If anyone can throw further light on this Babington-Ferrers marriage, and in particular the Ferrers family I should be very interested to know about it.
