According to William's civil war record he was born in Butler Co. Pa. and his dauther Catherine [my GG grandmother] was born in Ohio.His first wife was Hannah Combs and they had 4 children Thomas,Catherine,James and sarah. She died in 1857 and is buried in Marshall Co. In. In 1858 he married Elizabeth Miller In Elkhart In.and they had 4 more children.He had a sister whose name is Nancy and she took care of my GG grandmother after her mother died. MY G grandmother always called Nancy grandmother.
