I have just discovered my 3 x great grandmothers maiden name was Babington.
Her full name was Eleanor Francis she was born in 1798 and in the 1851 English census gives her place of birth as Dublin.
Eleanor married David Lynch around 1820. David had served in the 83rd Regiment of the foot and had fought in Spain.
David was born 1794 also in Dublin.
David and Eleanor's first child, Ellenor, was born in Leeds in 1821 . They are buried in Manchester.
My grandfather was George Andrew Babington Clive Lynch born in Australia in 1906. His name always fascinated me and inspired my interest in my family history.
Can anyone shed light on my family?
