My family originated from the little mountain town of Roccamondolfi. This is in the Molise/Abruzzi region of Italia. This is the only region in Italia where you will find Baccaro's. The name, Baccaro, is not a common name. I have just run across a few Baccaro's here in the United States. Yet, if you go to this little town of Roccamondolfi and take a walk into the cemetery that is just outside of the town you will see many Baccaro's. I would suggest to you that perhaps some of these Baccaro's are indeed your ancestor's. As well as mine. I, like you, have cousins in Brazil that I have never been in touch with. I just know that a part of my family immigrated to Brazil. I also have some cousins in Argentina that I have never seen. But I have been to Roccamondolfi many times and I am very close to my family there as well as some family in Rome. Unfortunately, in the United States I have no relatives. When you think what these people did to try to better their lives (leaving their family and country), it is truly unbelievable! Have you ever been to Italy and this region of Italy where you come from? If not, I could tell you where to go. This region of Italy is not a tourist region. But it is a very beautiful region with very good food and truly kind and wonderful people. If you ever have the chance, try to get there.
