MAGGIE BELL BADGETT
Maggie was born July 14, 1878 in Nashville, Tn., dauthter of Mark Pinkney and Sara Green and died May 12, 1977 in Webster, Tx. at age 98.She was buried at Laureland Cemetery, Dallas, Tx.Myself and other grandchildren served as pallbearers.She married Harvey Alonzo Malone August 27, 1898 in Hartsville, Trousdale Co., Tn., son of Harvey Malone and Elmeda Cole.He was born January 08, 1868 in Sumner County, Tn.He joined the army July 05, 1898 in Nashville, Tn.On his war record, he states he is living in Enon College, Tn.He fought under the command of Teddy Roosevelt when they charged San Juan Hill.He died July 26, 1936 at the VA Hospital in Waco, Texas.He is buried in Fuget Cemetery.He is the last person buried at Fuget Cemetery.During world war 2, the goverment oped a Naval Base and the cemetery sits on the base and is maintained by them.
They came to Texas about 1900 and settled at Grand Prairie, Dallas county.In 1963 Grand Prairie celebrated it's 100 year aniversity and Maggie was selected as Queen of Grand Prairie.She was the longest living resident of the city.She rode in a convertible along with the mayor in a parade through the city.Children of Maggie and Harvey are:
Landon Hayes, born October 01, 1900 and died April 01, 1949 in Grand Prairie. He married Lena May Oliver- March 23, 1923 in Grand Prairie, Tx.
Harvey Clarence was born January 24, 1902 and died January 09, 1935 in Grand Prairie.He married Ora Etta Bearden Bearden January 16, 1923. He is buried at Milford, TX.
William Harry was born May 10, 1904 and died May 03, 1987 at Crystal Springs, Ms.He married Mamie Lee Bearden June 03, 1921.
Vera Mae, born July 19, 1906 and died July 24, 1994 at Pasadena, Tx.She married Clyde Van Meter Sr. (2) Johnie Morris Lowe
Verna Faye, born August 12, 1908 and died Decembeer 29, 1952 in Grand Prairie.She married James Edgar Morton April 22, 1926.
Norman Pinkney was born March 14, 1911 and died in 1912 at Grand Prairie.
Velma Ray was born November 26, 1913 and died December 07, 1913.
Juanita Estell was born May 22, 1919 and died September 18, 1992 at Grand Prairie.She married Amos Leroy Brown December 31, 1937.
Sarah Francis was born January 30, 1921, married J. H. Teams.
Maggie loved her church and did a lot of church work.She was a life long member of The Church Of Christ.
