Ann Bagnall

Ann Bagnall (my g.g.g mother)born c 1830 (?). This date comes from counting back from the marriage of her daughter, Sarah (my g.g. mother) in 1870. Sarah must have been born around 1845. Therefore, Ann would have been born in the 1820s. Sarah married Frederick Jones - but the Welsh influence was already there. As a child, she spoke with a strong Welsh accent, went to a Dame school, played the harp, wore a Welsh cape and hat. Presumably, then, Ann had a Welsh connection.

Ann's sampler (aged 12) shows she lived in Captiveness, a village near Ellesmere, Shropshire - on the Welsh border.

Any info. on Ann would be gratefully received - also, hopefully it might help someone.

Thans.

Jean
