Hello Peter,
The marriage cert for Ken's parents has arrived but just my luck, there is no father given. One of the witnesses is Annie Bagnall, this could be May's mother. May's age is given as 16yrs. I have searched the bmd's but the only one I can find is Dec qtr 1917 May Bagnall born Nottingham district - I find this very unlikely to be mine but one never knows.
If Annie is her mother then there is an Annie Bagnall born 1899 on the 1911 census, she is the daughter if John William Bagnall (given as William on the 1901 census)and I think he was the illegitimate son of Sarah & grandson of John Bagnall and Martha Meakin.
I think your John is the brother of Sarah?
Bye for now.
Irene
