I have traced the family of John Bailey Charokee Co., KS through Hiram Bailey of Vernon County MO to Nicholas Bailey in Steuben County, NY. I have a paper trail from the US census and marriage records to Nicholas. Nicholas is possibly the son of H_ _ _ Bailey who fought in the revolution as a 2nd Lt in the 2nd Hunterdon. Nicholas moved with Gen. John Taylor, his fathers commander to Steuben County, NY. his father is buried in the Depew Cemetery, Urbana, Steuben Co, NY http://www.paintedhills.org/STEUBEN/DepewCemetery.htmhttp://www.paintedhills.org/STEUBEN/DepewCemetery.htm
Hiram is listed as working and living with his father Nicholas' neibhor and is single in 1850 census. He is recorded marring Elizabeth Boyce 1858, Calloway, Co, MO. He is listed on the 1860 census in Benton County, MO, and on the 1870 Census Vernon County, MO. He died just before the 1880 census in Center Township, Vernon County, MO. He has a brother James H. Bailey born Urbana, Steuban, NY 1830 abd settled in Livingston Co NY where he married Mary Hanford.
I am trying to locate someone that will help me with finding any Evidence for a Henry Bailey who lived in Hunterdon County, NJ and died there about 1807 there. He could be the H_ _ _ _ _ Bailey of the 2nd Hunterdon Cou Militia. He married, as a second husband, Isabella Montgomery born abt 1730 Married first John Reading who died 1767 married second Henry Bailey about 1769. She died 9 Jan 1800 Amwell township, Hunterdon county, New Jersey buried possibly Amwell Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Amwell township, Hunterdon county, New Jersey. Sense women had babies into their late 50s and even early 60s it is entirely possible she could be the mother of Nicholas Bailey. Henry Bailey could either be the father or grandfather of Nicholas.
