James Leonard Bailey, 76, of Chuckey, Washington Co TN,
passed away Friday, Autust 31, 2012, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jane
'Millie' Bailey, who passed away August 18, 2012.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane Reed, Jane
Southerland, and Karen Bailey; a grandson, Jeremy
Southerland; two great-grandchildren, Trinton Southerland
and Evan Southerland; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-
law, Ruth and Dale Dykes, of Limestone, TN, Wanda and
Clifford Knight, of Telford, TN, and Imogene and Jim
Street, of Jonesborough, TN; two brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Richard and Jeannie Cousin, and Larry and
Diane Cousin, all of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and
nephews; his special friends, Joe Faulkner and Kenneth
Lamb; and many other special friends.
The family extends a special thank you to the doctors,
nurses, and staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice, and to Jim
Brown and Terry Nelms of Veterans Affairs at Mountain Home
for their continued support.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.,
Monday, September 3, 2012, at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation
Service, Afton Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday,
September 4, 2012, at East Greene Free Will Baptist Church
with interment in GraceLand Memorial Gardens. The Rev.
Anthony Payne and the Rev. Jack Dykes will officiate.
The Greene County Honor Guard and Tennessee National Guard
will convey military graveside honors. Pallbearers will be
Jamie Street, Randy Cousin, Conley Cousin, Andy Story,
Dustin Wolfe, and Tyler Briggs.
