The below is all I know of my Bailiff roots, only the names Mary who is daughter of Robert Bailiff. Only other thing I know is Malissa also married a Newton. Malissa Ann Eaves m John S Newton they are my gg-grandparents. If any of this sounds familiar plaease email me at marinadelrey73@yahoo.com

JOHN H.6 EAVES (Graves5, Bartlett4, , Graves2-3, William1) was born about 1821, in Alabama (census); died 12 March 1851 in Lauderdale County, Miss.[1] He married MARY BAILIFF 29 Jan. 1841 in Perry County, Ala.[2] She was born in May 1821 in Tennessee (1900 census), the daughter of Johnís stepfather, Robert Bailiff;[3] died after 1900, probably in Mississippi (1900 census). She married (2) JAMES NEWTON 12 Jan 1860, Lauderdale County.[4] He was born about 1820/22 in North Carolina; died by 1900 (census).

Melissa A. Eaves was the daughter of John H. Eaves and Mary Bailiff, . John died after they had three children; Mary Bailiff Eaves then married James Newton.
