In the following notes, the locations of christenings and marriages were always Chester Le Street, Durham, England. I also have ignored the various (mis)spellings of the last name.
Can anyone verify who was the father of Robert Bainbridge (c. 5 DEC 1763; m. 24 FEB 1794 Ann Hall)? I have been able to identify two possibilities:
1. Robert Bainbridge (c. 23 Feb 1746) (Seems unlikely, but marriages under age 14 were performed at this time. Would have been age 17 at birth of RB 1763))
Father: Valentine Bainbridge (c. 3 MAR 1706; m. 4 DEC 1731 Jane Wilson)
OR
2. Robert Bainbridge (c. 2 Apr 1738) (Seems more likely, but haven't been able to confirm.)
Father: Bartholomew Bainbridge (c. 24 Aug 1703; m. 11 OCT 1731 Mary Surtis)
The father of both Bartholomew and Valentine appears to have been John Bainbridge (b. 25 Sep 1681) who was the son of Ralph Bainbridge(b. abt 1650; m. 11 Nov 1676).
Any assistance in clarifying / verifying this information would be appreciated.
