Karen,

The Bainbridges in my branch of the family probably came over two generations before your Robert K. Bainbridge. I have verified that John H. Bainbridge, Mary Bainbridge Jopling, and Bartholomew Bainbridge (all children of Robert Bainbridge and Ann Hall Married 1793 in Chester-Le-Street, County Durham)came over. The 1850 Schuylkill census shows John H. and Bartholomew residing in nearby homes.

It is clear that Robert was a very common first name in my branch of the family and it appears far less frequently in other branches. It is possible that your Robert K. Bainbridge could be a descendant from one of the earlier members of the family. If you can go back a two more generations, or put somebody in Chester-Le-Street in the 1850's or earlier, then it may be possible to make the connection.

Good luck with your research!
Tom
