Hi

I was intrigued by your message on the Bainbridges in Midridge and so looked into your other messages. My partner has the some of the same family lines as you.

Her 4x great grandfather Bartholomew was born in School, Aycliff, Dur. All of his children where born in Midrdge/Shildon and his father Bartholomew Snr was from Bowes, Yorks. After looking more closely at the yorkshire connection we had come to the conclusion that Bartholomew Snr could quite possibly have come from Romaldkirk or the border of the two.

There is also a very strong Gowland connection with the Bainbridge family after the marriage of Thomas Bainbridge and Ann Gowland in Weardale 1851. Our Gowland family are from Stanhope, Rookhope and weardale area's.

Would love to hear from you and exchange info. You can e-mail me direct if you would like.

Kind Regards

Brian
