I have a record of Peter Bale born in Germany 2/24/1852 departed France to come to the US. He died April 11, 1896 in Jackson County, Kansas City, MO and is buried at Union Cemetery. I represent the Union Cemetery Historical Society and we have a grave marker placed by the veterans. The photo of the tombstone can be found at "find a grave". We are trying to confirm he was in the Civil War as a Private Company D, 6th MO inf. I did locate a Peter Bale who was on furlough Feb 12, 1889 from Ft. Leavenworth. I hope this helps you with your research.
