Dear Peter

My surname is Bale but I had always assumed that all the Bales in Ireland were from the one family.

John Bale came to Ireland as far as we know from Staple Fitzpayne/Taunton in Somerset. He was probably born around 1850 give or take a decade or two! He was a Methodist minister to the British forces in Ireland and lived in Galway. As far as we know he died in England but it is possible he died in Galway. It was his second marriage. I believe he had 3 children from a previous marriage who emigrated to Australia.

I havn't heard of a Wexford connection, only Galway and now Dublin where all the Bales in Ireland live (as far as I am aware). In fact all the Bales in Ireland are directly related back to Sam Bale (John's son). Sam died in 1964. He had a sister in Shefield in England (I think her name was Lydia).

Hope this was some help.
