Hi Jean:I really don't have very much info on Joseph Ball
Bradford, except he was the brother of my grgrgrandfather
Cornelius John Bradford.Their mother was Abigail Fields or
Field Bradford and their father was John or Jno Mercier
Bradford.John M. Bradford was related William Bradford the
1st Printer who came to the USA from England with William Penn. He Printed the Declaration of Independence in Phila.
and later went to New York.I have a lot of info on Wm. Bradford, but when I finally found my grgrandfather Cornelius who was born in New York in 1804, I started to find info on his mother Abigail Field, but was unsuccessful.
I do know that she came from Philadelphia, and John M. Bradford was a merchant who visited Philadelphia often. They were married in Philadelphia and had their receiption at Joseph Ball, of Philadelphia, house, a very wealthy man at the time.Abigail and John were married in 1801 and she
died in 1808 in Philadelphia and John died in 1810 in New York. That left Joseph and Cornelius orphans at ages 8 and
6 years. In Cornelius's will he left two portraits, which he held very dear to him, his aunt and uncel Ball to one of
his daughters, that is why I feel someone in the Ball family probably raised them.If you recognize any of the above please let me know, or if you can relate the ball and
field familes I would appreciate your input.
Thanks,
Joan
